The study group – microbiome – aims to establish a network for microbiome research across german speaking countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This network will address the academic and industrial research community in microbiome, metabolomics, microbiology, biotherapeutics, drug development, medical diagnostic, nutrition, epidemiology, pharmacology, gastroenterology, biotechnology, analytical chemistry, data analysis and others.

Additionally, we want to support national and international collaborations across the microbiome research community. Here we intend

• to link our microbiome group to other global societies and groups to gain visibility and strengthen networking
• to inform about sources of suitable national and cross-country project grant and funding options
• to write white papers to support public relations
• to support and deliver a platform for the generation new knowledge and tools for basic and applied microbiome research.
