PhD position in the field of Instrumental Analysis

At the Institute of Food and One Health, the following PhD position is available starting August 1, 2026:

The position is limited to 3 years (with the possibility of extension) and offers the opportunity to pursue a PhD.

The research focus of the Department of Molecular Food Chemistry and Food Development lies in instrumental analysis as well as in the investigation of the bioactivity of food components. Within the newly funded project “Fruit juices and fruit juice blends as modulators of the intestinal barrier, inflammatory parameters, and recovery after physical exertion”, supported by the Research Association of the German Food Industry (FEI), various metabolites in fruit juices and human samples will be analytically determined following juice consumption.

The project will be carried out in collaboration with the German Sport University Cologne as well as with various industry partners, particularly from the fruit juice sector.
